#AYearOfBuses 60: Aireline Keighley – Leeds

We’re 60 days in on #AYearOfBuses, and for the first of our routes in March, we’re taking a look at The Keighley Bus Company’s Aireline.

With a fleet of shiny new Versas built at Optare’s factory in Yorkshire, Aireline is a proper local route, through and through. The buses hit the road in late 2017, and feature wireless charging pads at mini tables onboard, and at their launch featured announcements and route commentary from Eric Scaife, of the Yorkshire Dialect Society.

The buses feature a striking livery of Keighley Bus Company green with bright red and orange accents, with the theme of ‘follow the river’ flowing through the design – Aireline follows the River Aire through the Aire Valley for the whole length of its route, from Keighley down to Bingley, Shipley, Greengates, Kirkstall and Leeds.
