We’re sticking with the South Coast for day 53 on #AYearOfBuses, but a little further along – it’s First’s Jurassic Coaster.
The X53 runs from Axminster to Weymouth along the stunning Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site. It glides though idyllic towns and villages, including Lyme Regis, Abbotsbury, and West Bay – the setting for popular ITV crime series, Broadchurch.
In fact, many of the places starring in Broadchurch can be found along the route – there’s even a guide to visiting places from the TV show along the route! They include Harbour Cliff Beach, under the cliffs of West Bay – a stunning natural beauty spot, with golden sands and rocks ravaged by coastal erosion. The X53 is undoubtedly one of the UK’s most scenic bus routes.
