For a long time, the 25 was London’s busiest bus route, until it was cut back recently and overtaken by the 18. It’s day 325 on #AYearofBuses!
Tracing its history back to 1910, the 25 started life running between Old Ford and Victoria via Bank, Holborn, Oxford Circus and Piccadilly. In 1912, it swapped its eastern terminus with the 8, becoming the 25 as we know it today.
In December 2018, it stopped running all the way to Oxford Circus, instead finishing at City Thameslink station – depriving itself of the top spot as London’s busiest bus route in the process.
