#AYearOfBuses 103: Manchester – World Freight Terminal

Today’s winner on #AYearOfBuses is one of two core bus routes linking Manchester with its Airport.

To be honest, we’ve chosen Stagecoach Manchester’s 103 for today because ‘World Freight Terminal’, the official endpoint for the 103 from 28 April, sounds absolutely epic.

The 103 is one of two core routes linking the city centre with Manchester Airport, the other being the 43, which is the more fast and direct of the two. The 103 takes a slightly more winding route through Wythenshawe town centre – commonly known as Europe’s biggest council estate – and then onto Sharston, Northenden and Moss Side, along the Princess Parkway.

Both the 103 and 43 have been ravaged by competition when it comes to getting people to the Airport – now, there are more ways than ever to get there, since the new tram line opened a few years back. But if ADL Enviro400 MMCs are your thing, there’s only one clear winner!
