#AYearOfBuses 90: Fosseway Flyer Newark – Nottingham

Founded in 1989, Marshall’s of Sutton-on-Trent are a small, family-run independent bus and coach company, and today on #AYearOfBuses, we’re taking a look at their Fosseway Flyer.

The Marshall family have lived in Sutton on Trent for over 200 years, and by tradition were basket makers. It’s a little known fact, reflected in their company crest, which symbolises both basket weaving and bee keeping along with the River Trent running through its centre.

The Fosseway Flyer – or the 90 – links Newark with Nottingham every hour through the week, with a journey time of just over one hour. It passes through plenty of scenic villages along the way, passing close to the quaint village of Radcliffe-on-Trent, with its Anglican, Roman Catholic and Methodist churches.

Thanks to Mark Lyons for today’s cracking photo.
