Day 50 on #AYearOfBuses takes us back to the south coast – and it’s for another of the UK’s most scenic bus routes.
Go-Ahead’s Purbeck Breezers are, quite simply, a collection of bus journeys you’ll never forget. Purbeck Breezer 50 runs between Bournemouth and Swanage, through the stunning Sandbanks, on board the Sandbanks ferry and through the beautiful beaches and countryside that Purbeck is famous for.
Run with open-top buses for most of the year, some of the Volvo-engined MCV EvoSetis used on the route have a trick up their sleeves. There are six convertible open-toppers – capable of running with their tops off for when the good weather comes out, and with a full, enclosed roof outside of the sunny seasons. They carry a bespoke, highly illustrative livery courtesy of design agency Best Impressions, featuring a truly stunning sweeping blue sea set against green hills and calming beaches.
Thanks to Mark Lyons for sending in today’s stunning photos.
