IT’s day 354 on #AYearOfBuses – and with some creative license, we’re switching things round – to 453!
London’s route 453 was another newcomer to be ran initially in the hands of Mercedes-Benz Citaro G artics, initially under the care of Stagecoach London’s Plumstead garage. It was created in 2003 as part of preparations for the introduction of the Congestion Charge.
It parallels part of route 53, providing extra capacity through Central London. These days, it’s run by London General, with a fleet of New Routemasters.
