#AYearOfBuses 350: Ashton – Oldham

A one-time First Pennine bus route, the 350 is our winner today – it’s day 350 on #AYearOfBuses.

The Borough of Tameside is a particularly scenic metropolitan borough of Greater Manchester, spanning the towns of Ashton-Under-Lyne, Stalybridge, Mossley, Hyde and others, bordering Oldham and Stockport.

First’s 350 runs from Oldham, cutting a swathe across Tameside as it makes its way over the hills towards Ashton. Along the way, it winds its way around Mossley – a town of two halves, with ‘top’ and ‘bottom’ Mossley divided by the steep incline of Stamford Road leading down to the town’s rail station, which the 350 climbs and ascends in either direction.
