#AYearOfBuses 346: St Bart’s – Lancaster Gate

Welcome to day 346 on #AYearOfBuses – and a London bus route which well and truly defines ‘around the houses’!

Metroline’s 46 runs from Lancaster Gate, close to Hyde Park and Paddington, across to St Bart’s Hospital, close to the City of London and St Paul’s. These days, it’s home to a fleet of ADL Enviro200EV BYD full-electric buses.

Though just a couple of miles across central London separates the two endpoints, the 46 is by far from the quickest way of getting between the two places. It takes a torturous, meandering route from Lancaster Gate to Little Venice, St John’s Wood, Swiss Cottage, Hampstead, Belsize Park, Camden Town and Holborn before reaching St Bart’s.

Still, fun if you have the time to do it!
