#AYearOfBuses 313: Stockport – Manchester Airport

Today on #AYearOfBuses, we’re taking a look at one of Manchester Airport’s many bus links to the suburbs of Greater Manchester.

Stagecoach’s 313 links the town of Stockport, which lies on the border between Greater Manchester and Cheshire, with Adswood, Cheadle Hulme and Manchester Airport.

It’s an extremely important urban bus route, connecting commuters from this rather affluent part of Greater Manchester with the airport’s interchange, running fast from the Wilmslow-Handforth bypass along the Manchester Airport Relief Road.

These days, it’s mostly in the hands of Alexander Dennis Enviro200s, but for many years, the route was home to many of Stagecoach Manchester’s sizeable fleet of ALX300-bodied MAN 18.220s.
