We’re sticking with Hertfordshire today, to take a look at a relative newcomer to the scene – Arriva Herts & Essex’s 302.
The 302 is perhaps one of the newest routes we’ve featured on #AYearOfBuses – it only came into being during September of this year! However, it’s a route born out of two other, more well-established bus routes, linking Hemel Hempstead with St Albans, Hatfield and Welwyn Garden City.
The 302 is an important route running east-west, cutting a swathe through deepest rural Hertfordshire – it connects a string of large towns, each of which lie well within the commuter belt for central London, and each boasting a rail station on one of three converging heavy rail mainlines into the capital.
