#AYearOfBuses 265: X65 Lichfield – Tamworth

From Cathedral to Castle…Arriva’s X65 has it all! It’s day 265 on #AYearOfBuses.

Arriva Midland’s X65 runs from the cathedral city of Lichfield, nestled in the heart of Staffordshire, to the market town of Tamworth, on the banks of the River Tame. Though a particularly short express route, with a journey time of just 30 mins end to end, the X65 is packed with attractions.

In Lichfield, you’ll find the imposing, three-spired cathedral, made of locally quarried sandstone, and close by, the former home of Erasmus Darwin, poet and physician whose grandson was natural historian, Charles Darwin. And at the other end of the route, you’ll find Tamworth Castle, the Grade I-listed Norman castle overlooking the confluence of the River Anker and the River Tame.
