We haven’t featured one of Stagecoach’s Gold routes for a while on #AYearOfBuses, so today, we’re taking a trip to Northampton!
Gold X46 links the market town of Raunds, Northamptonshire, with Rushden, Wellingborough, the Weston Favell shopping centre and the town of Northampton. Stagecoach invested £1.8million in nine Alexander Dennis Enviro400-bodied Scanias for the X46 and X47 in 2013, featuring leather coach seats and free WiFi on board.
Though Northamptonshire isn’t exactly renowned for its scenery, the route itself takes in some spectacular views from the top deck, in particular between Wellingborough and Ecton, where there are some fantastic views to be had.
