#AYearOfBuses 236: Ashton – Glossop

Today’s day 236 on #AYearOfBuses, and we’re heading over to Tameside for a look at a route which will take you to the edge of the Peak District.

Stagecoach Manchester’s 236 links the town of Ashton, in Greater Manchester, with Stalybridge, Mottram and Glossop, on the edge of the Peak District, nestled at the foot of the infamous Snake Pass.

Though a fairly short and otherwise unremarkable route, it’s particularly scenic in parts, with splendid views over the valley at Mottram in Longdendale, and of course, there’s the rugged moorland and wide open spaces of the Dark Peak at Glossop.
