#AYearOfBuses 232: Hanley – Uttoxeter

First Potteries 32

We are 232 days in on #AYearOfBuses…and it’s the first time we’ve featured a route from the Potteries!

The city of Stoke-on-Trent is a sort of hybrid super-town made up of six towns – Hanley, Burslem, Fenton, Longton, Stoke-upon-Trent and Tunstall. It’s centred on Hanley, which is generally accepted as the city centre – and it’s in Hanley where today’s winner on #AYearOfBuses starts its journey to nearby Uttoxeter.

From Hanley, the 32 heads East out of the city towards Cheadle – no, the small market town in Staffordshire one – before dipping down through Mobberley, Tean, and on to the market town of Uttoxeter. In Uttoxeter, you’ll find Uttoxeter Racecourse, built all the way back in 1907 and a survivor of two world wars!
