#AYearOfBuses 221: Edgware – Turnpike Lane

We’re taking a trip back to London today on #AYearOfBuses, to take a look at a popular north London bus route.

Introduced in 1961 to replace two trolleybus routes, the 221 is a winding North London bus route linking the busy suburb of Edgware with Mill Hill, North Finchley, Friern Barnet, Wood Green and Turnpike Lane.

Running every 12 mins through the daytime, it’s operated by Arriva London using a fleet of Wright Gemini 2-bodied VDL DB300s.
