One of Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland’s most scenic bus routes is our focus today here on #AYearOfBuses.
The second of Arriva’s MAX routes to feature in this series, MAX X18 takes a sweeping stroll along the Northumberland Coast, with fantastic views out towards the North Sea.
The X18 takes in a good chunk of the A1068, the old corn trading road which runs from Hexham, in siouth west Northumberland, to Almouth and Alnwick. There are many stunning coastal towns and villages along the route, too, from the old coal mining town of Amble, with its quaint marina, to Budle Bay and the spectacular Bamburgh Castle.
