We’re heading to the city of Winchester for the first time today on #AYearOfBuses – it’s Stagecoach’s recently-upgraded 64.
The 64 is Stagecoach South’s main route between Winchester, Alresford and Alton. It links Winchester city centre, Alresford, Ropley, Four Marks & Alton where it connects with South Western Railway services offering connections to London.
In 2017, the 64 received a huge upgrade, with an investment of over £1 million in 6 brand new ADL Enviro400MMCs, featuring e-leather high-backed seating, free WiFi, USB power at every seat, and the latest smart technology to reduce emissions. A specially-adapted version of Stagecoach’s livery was introduced with the new fleet, featuring a huge chunk of blue swooping across the sides of the vehicles, and a whole host of taglines reflecting places served along the route, including the Winchester Science Centre & Planetarium.
And, come on…who doesn’t love a good planetarium?
