#AYearOfBuses 63: The Sixes Derby – Ripley

For day 63 on #AYearOfBuses, we’re taking a trip to the heart of Derbyshire.

The Sixes, from Trent Barton, are a collection of routes with a rather unusual numbering system!

They are the 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, 6.4, and 6.X, and they run together from Derby to Belper every 15 mins, before splitting up with buses travelling to Ripley, Wirksworth, Matlock and Bakewell. The 6.3 runs latest, with buses until 3am on Friday and Saturday nights, connecting Derby with the Belper Estates.

In amongst the many cultural highlights along the route has to be Belper bus station, which acts as both a small bus station and also a depot for the buses overnight!
