It’s day 364 on #AYearOfBuses! And it’s time for our penultimate winner on #AYearOfBuses.
And what a winner, too. Bluestar’s route 1 links the cathedral city of Winchester, on the edge of the South Downs National Park in Hampshire, with the city of Southampton, on the South Coast.
Bluestar 1 loosely follows the path of the River Itchen, which flows from Winchester, down through Shawford, skirting Otterbourne, and out into the Solent once it reaches Southampton.
The route is home to a fleet of striking blue Alexander Dennis Enviro400MMC double deckers, running up to every 15 mins and boasting free WiFi & USB power on board.
