#AYearOfBuses 358: Crystal Palace – Orpington

Merry Christmas! Today’s Christmas Eve, and it’s also day 358 on #AYearOfBuses.

London’s route 358 is an interesting one. Formerly a commercially-operated route run by Metrobus, it became a TfL-tendered route in 2002 – who promptly awarded it to Metrobus.

Go-Ahead restructured its operations in 2014, transferring the 358 to its London General subsidiary in the process. A fleet of Mercedes-Benz Citaros were introduced in 2015, ousting the incumbent Scania Omnicitys – only for several Omnicitys to resurface later, after the Orpington bus depot fire.
