#AYearOfBuses 344: Manchester – Stockport

It’s day 344 on #AYearOfBuses – and we’re taking a look at a lesser-known bus route between Manchester and Stockport.

Manchester Community Transport’s 44 takes the ‘scenic’ route between Manchester and Stockport through Fallowfield, Burnage and the Heatons, rather than the more direct route along Stockport Road.

One of those seemingly ever-changing bus routes supported by TfGM, it previously ran to Gatley and Manchester Airport instead of Stockport, but after a recent reshuffle, found itself diverted east instead.

Nevertheless, it provides a vital link along some of the lesser-used roads around Withington and Burnage, servicing roads of the city which aren’t well connected by other bus routes.
