#AYearOfBuses 324: Gold X24 Blaenavon – Newport

We haven’t featured a Stagecoach Gold route for quite a while on #AYearOfBuses – so let’s take a look at one!

Stagecoach’s Gold X24 links the city of Newport with Cwmbran, Pontypool and Blaenavon. As you’d expect from a Gold route, it features a fleet of pimped-up Alexander Dennis Enviro300s, tricked out with a range of luxuries including leather seats, extra legroom, USB power and free WiFi.

There’s plenty to see and do along the route, too. The Big Pit museum at the World Heritage Site of Blaenavon is a real coal mine with underground guided tours, sitting right next to the Pontypool and Blaenavon heritage Railway.
