#AYearOfBuses 305: 503 Huddersfield – Halifax

It’s been a while since we featured a First route on #AYearOfBuses – so today, we’re taking a look at West Yorkshire’s 503.

The 503, alongside sister route the 501, come together every 10 mins to create a vital bus route linking the minster town of Halifax with nearby Huddersfield.

Once part of West Yorkshire’s erstwhile Overground network, they wind their way through the punishing hills of the West Riding, drifting steeply downhill from Halifax towards Elland, before rising steeply again to the junction with the M62 at Ainley Top.
