#AYearOfBuses 241: Charcoal Line Bungay – Norwich

Today on #AYearOfBuses, we’re taking a look at one of First’s routes which make up part of Network Norwich – Charcoal Line 41.

Norwich is a bit of an oddity in the First UK bus empire. It’s still clinging onto the remnants of the ‘Overground’ concept, with coloured lines forming a network around the city. Similar networks exist in other places too, but few routes are actually referred to as ‘lines’ anymore.

Network Norwich’s Charcoal Line is a series of routes connecting the city centre with Poringland and Bungay, with a fast version, the X41. There are several types of vehicles branded for the 40, 41 and X41, including short Wright Streetlite DFs, shown here.
