#AYearOfBuses 187: Xpress Glasgow – Waterside

Scotland, we’re back! Today on #AYearOfBuses, we’re taking a trip to Glasgow for a peek at one of the city’s many express bus routes.

First Glasgow’s Xpress X87, along with its sister, the X85, connect Kirkintilloch, just northeast of Glasgow on the Forth & Clyde Canal, with Buchanan bus station fast via the M80 motorway. During the peaks, there’s a bus around every 7 mins between Kirkintilloch and the city centre, making it one of the city’s most frequent bus routes through the rush hour.

The X87 extends to Harestanes and the Waterside housing estate, whilst the X85 runs to Lennoxtown and Campsie Glen. They’re home to a fleet of ‘First Xpress gold’ branded Alexander Dennis Enviro400MMCs, featuring eLeather seats and free WiFi onboard.
