#AYearOfBuses 154: Loughborough – Leicester

Today’s feature on #AYearOfBuses loosely follows the route of the Great Central Railway across Leicestershire – it’s Centrebus 154.

Had the Great Central Railway still been open between Loughborough and Leicester, Centrebus 154 would have faced some quite serious competition!

The 154 snakes its way south from Loughborough taking in some of Leicestershire’s most picturesque villages, including Quorn, with its now-preserved former GCR station, and Swithland, with its stunning reservoir and viaduct.

From Swithland, it drops down through small village of Thurcaston, before heading into Leicester’s city centre through Anstey and Beaumont Leys.
