#AYearOfBuses 140: Matlock – Alfreton

Today’s winner on #AYearOfBuses takes us for a ride through history – literally!

Derbyshire County Council’s contracted route 140 links Matlock with Alfreton and the living Tramway Museum at Crich.

Starting in the scenic town of Matlock, nestled in the Peak District, the 140 takes an idyllic stroll through Matlock Bath before arriving at the Tramway Museum. If you haven’t been to the Tramway Museum yet, you’re in for a surprise – seemingly emerging out of nowhere, you’ll find yourself immersed in a village straight out of history, surrounded by over 60 real life, working trams from all over the country.

Now run by Littles, pictured here we see one of the former caretakers of the route, Yourbus, in a typically ‘Peak District’ setting.
