#AYearOfBuses 116: Ayr – Kilmarnock

Stagecoach West Scotland are simply making our job too easy here on #AYearOfBuses – today, we’re taking a look at another of their scenic bus routes.

The X16 connects the charming coastal town of Ayr with Kilmarnock, skirting around the side of Glasgow Prestwick Airport before flying down the A77, complete with stunning views over the Ayrshire countryside.

With a short journey time of only just over half an hour, it’s not a particularly long route, unlike the other Stagecoach West Scotland routes we’ve featured here on #AYearOfBuses. As such, it doesn’t benefit from the usual array of high-spec coaches, instead, it’s the mainstay of coach-seated single and double decker Alexander Dennis Enviros.
