19.33 Interesting seating arrangement on the lower rear, with tables instead of seats over the wheel arches and 4 across the back instead of the usual 5.

19.15 The glass roof is absolutely stunning, as is the 2+1 seating. You get the feeling that these vehicles are the start of something really, really special.

18.47 There’s going to be a tour of Harrogate on board…but first, here’s our first glimpse of the new vehicles!

18.37 “Wrightbus confess that they’ve never built buses like this before!” – Alex

18.35 “Library 36 is not a gimmick…there is a real community feel on 36.” – Alex

18.33 “From tonight, the pioneer is back!”

18.33 Alex: “way back in 2003, two men had a vision…dazzling customers with leather seats and sexy black buses…everybody thought they were mad!”

18.30 Alex Hornby is on stage to welcome the guests and introduce the evening.

18.24 Drinks and canapés currently. Almost time for the big reveal…

17.59 Good evening! Matt here, almost ready to kick off at the Majestic Hotel in Harrogate. Everybody looking resplendent in red and black…!

From 6pm on Thursday 21 January, we’ll be bringing you all of the action from Transdev’s VIP launch event in Harrogate. The event marks the rebranding and expansion of the already popular 36 between Leeds, Harrogate and Ripon – featuring a new timetable, some of Best Impressions’ finest work inside and out, and new peak time extensions between Bilton, Jennyfield and Starbeck.

The vehicles promise to be spectacular, boasting 4G wifi, USB charging points, quilted leather seats, glass roofs, contactless payments, personal tables and even their own library! We’ll bring you a boat load of photos right here throughout the evening, and you can see the vehicles in all their glory for yourself at launch events in Ripon and Harrogate (Friday 22 January) and Leeds (Saturday 23 January).

Tweet us your questions, requests or random outbursts at @transportdsn, and massive thanks to Transdev Blazefield’s CEO, Alex Hornby (@alextransdev), for the invitation.
